Gotham FC Fall to Denver Summit FC in First Home Defeat of 2026

Gotham FC suffered a 2-0 defeat to expansion side Denver Summit FC on Wednesday night at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Denver opened the scoring in the 58th minute through Melissa Kössler, who finished a move down the right side following buildup play from Yuna McCormack. The visitors extended their lead in the 73rd minute when Tash Flint converted after a turnover in the defensive third.

Gotham had several early opportunities, with goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger making key saves in the first half to deny Kössler from close range. The home side came closest to scoring in the 66th minute when substitute Jordynn Dudley was blocked one-on-one by Denver goalkeeper Abby Smith.

Gotham made multiple substitutions in the second half, including the introductions of Rose Lavelle, Esther González, Midge Purce, and Jordynn Dudley, but was unable to convert its chances. Despite the loss, the team has conceded only two goals across its first three matches of the 2026 season and posted a 1-1-1 record.

Denver Summit FC earned their first points of the season and remain unbeaten after two matches.
